Mission zero
We recognize the importance of embracing practices that nurture the health of our planet. We are constantly exploring ways to enhance our recycling practices within the mattress recycling program that we run, including improving how mattresses are processed after collection and disposal through our recycling service.
By 2030, we aspire to achieve a 100% recycling rate for mattresses. Currently our processes only allow us to deconstruct and recycle 75% of the material in a discarded mattress. The remaining 25% is not currently recyclable.
Our future initiatives involve exploring innovative methods to recycle and repurpose all of materials found in mattresses. Potential future uses for the unrecyclable mattress components are pet bedding, utilizing it as incineration fuel in developing nations and repurposing it for industrial insulation.
Recycling 100% of materials within mattresses represents a deep commitment to protecting our planet and creating a better future for future generations. While achieving this goal may prove challenging, embarking on this journey together requires collaborative efforts from governments, industries, communities, and individuals alike innovating, investing, and adopting sustainable practices for lasting change.
As we move toward this ambitious goal, we step closer to realizing a world in which waste no longer exists and all materials have an integral purpose in a circular and sustainable economy. By setting our sights on recycling 100% of materials, we make way for a brighter and more sustainable future for all.
